In Claude on the Slopes by Alex T. Smith, Claude is feeling “boisterous,” so he and his buddy Sir Bobblysock take to the slopes.
Along the way, they find themselves in various snow-related adventures from sledding on trays to getting caught in an avalanche (spoiler alert: Claude forgets to use his quiet voice!).
This was a really cute book with adorable illustrations and just the right amount of humor for adults and children alike. Sure, it shouldn’t serve as a manual for how to behave on the slopes, but it is a charming tale sure to please. I mean, how can you lose with a character called Sir Bobblysock?!
My five-month-old (at the time of this review) already loves Claude — we look forward to more of his books.
